About Flip Spot

Flip Spot is a 3D sports stunt game centered on aerial rotation and controlled landings. Each attempt challenges you to launch with enough precision to complete the jump.

Flip Spot Is All About Aerial Control

The core of Flip Spot resembles a compact gymnastics drill translated into a physics-based game. The character begins from an elevated launch position, enters the air, performs a controlled rotation, and must recover into a stable landing.

Control the Rotation Through the Air

Holding the movement input during the airborne phase keeps the character flipping. The longer the input remains active, the further the rotation progresses. Releasing the input stops the active flipping and allows you to align the character for the landing.

This creates three distinct phases in a successful stunt:

  1. Launch - Build enough height to reach the target.
  2. Rotation - Use the available airtime to complete the desired flip.
  3. Recovery - Release at the right moment and align the feet with the landing zone.

The third phase is particularly important. A technically impressive flip still fails if the character reaches the platform at the wrong angle.

Platform Height Changes the Stunt

Lower launch points generally favor shorter, safer rotations because there is less airtime available for recovery. Higher platforms can provide additional time for more ambitious aerial movement. The landing distance also matters. A target positioned farther away changes the trajectory and forces you to account for both horizontal travel and rotational movement. For this reason, Flip Spot rewards adaptation. A timing pattern that works perfectly on one platform may need to be adjusted on the next.

Controls for the Flip Spot game

  • Space / W / Up Arrow - Prepare and launch the jump
  • Hold Space / W / Up Arrow while airborne - Rotate and flip
  • R - Replay the attempt
  • Esc - Pause the game

Different Takes on Flip-Based Sports

Both Flip Spot and Flip Rush are physics-based stunt games built around jumping, aerial flips, and precise landings. However, they approach the formula differently.
